Universal Log Parsing and Indexing (ULPI)

Universal Log Collection and New Field Creation - Any Log Format, Any Source

Wouldn't it be great if a single log management solution for SIEM could analyze all log formats generated by any system, device or application? EventLog Analyzer using its Universal Log Parsing and Indexing(ULPI) technology allows you to decipher any log data regardless of the source & log format

With ULPI technology you can index any machine-generated logs (provided it is in human readable, non-encrypted format) by defining and extracting log fields of your choice using regular expression patterns.

Why is New Field Creation needed?

Network Administrators are always in need of more information and insights from their log data. There are times when an IT administrator would identify some log information which is useful and would like to have it indexed automatically as a new field. Having more fields being indexed makes your log data more useful while conducting log forensics analysis and creating network security reports.

No log management solution vendor will provide out-of-box log collection and reporting functionality for your custom in-house/proprietary applications. With field extraction capability, EventLog Analyzer allows you to index custom fields and generate reports for any human readable logs collected from your in-house/proprietary applications.

Generating Regular Expression Patterns to Extract and Index New Fields

Manually generating patterns, by extracting and creating new fields, for 'future' indexing is a very complex task. EventLog Analyzer takes care of all your pattern woes with its interactive process of pattern creation.

EventLog Analyzer automatically generates patterns with just a few clicks of your mouse. You don't have to spend time writing patterns manually. EventLog Analyzer offers you the flexibility of indexing logs with default fields and custom fields of your choice. With this option, the pattern is generated and the new fields are indexed along with the log import.

If you are comfortable in writing patterns, EventLog Analyzer gives you the flexibility to edit the pattern. You can also modify the pattern anytime to index new fields or to eliminate the existing fields from being indexed. Once the pattern is generated, EventLog Analyzer starts extracting and indexing the new field data.
