Enterprises generally rely on external identity stores such as Windows Active Directory or LDAP directory for maintaining user information and authentication. While choosing any IT Management solution, it is worthwhile to check if the solution has the capability to integrate with Active Directory or LDAP since such an integration would prove to be highly time saving. In addition, users can use their AD/LDAP credentials to login to the IT Management application also.
PMP can be easily integrated with Windows Active Directory and LDAP. PMP also leverages the authentication mechanism of AD/LDAP. Administrators can import users/user groups from AD/LDAP into PMP. Whenever new users get added to AD/LDAP, they can be automatically imported into PMP. In other words, the user database of PMP and AD/LDAP can be kept in sync.
