Prerequisites for monitoring HP-UX servers in OpStor
- Download the relevant net-snmp package available at
URL: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=12694
Example: If HP-UX version is 11.11, download the file net-snmp-5.2.1-HP-UX_B11.11_9000_800.tar.gz
- Install the tar as root under "/" directory in the HP-UX machine.
- Run snmpconf present in /usr/local/bin directory to configure necessary SNMP parameters.
- Now start the SNMP daemon by executing snmpd present in /usr/local/sbin directory
Prerequisites for monitoring Solaris servers in OpStor
- Download the relevant net-snmp package available at

Example: If SUN OS version is UltraSparc 5.8, download the file net-snmp-5.1.2-SunOS_5.8_sun4u.tar.gz
- Install the tar as root under "/" directory in the HP-UX machine.
- Run snmpconf present in /usr/local/bin directory to configure necessary SNMP parameters.
- Now, start the SNMP daemon by executing snmpd present in /usr/local/sbin directory
HBA Discovery
Steps to add Linux / AIX / Solaris / HP-UX servers in OpStor
- Navigate to Admin Tab --> Manage Storage Devices link in OpStor Webclient
- Specify the IP Address of the host server
- Choose Device type as 'Host'
- Choose Vendor as 'Any'.
- Provide SNMP Port and Community string (default is 161 and public)
- If needed, change the Timeout value (default is 5 seconds)
- Click on Add Device
Note : If the Ping facility is disabled for the device, then please uncheck 'Ping the given IP' field.
Note : In case of non discovery of the device, please follow the troubleshooting tips displayed in the webclient and try re-adding the device.
