Prerequisites for monitoring Hitachi TagmaStore Arrays through SMI-S
- OpStor uses Hitachi SMI Provider to monitor the Hitachi Array
- This Provider can be installed on any server that is reachable from the server where OpStor is installed.
Steps to add Hitachi TagmaStore series in OpStor (through SMI-S)
- Navigate to Admin Tab --> Manage Storage Devices link in OpStor client
- Provide IP Address of server where SMI-S Provider is running
- Choose the Device Type as 'RAID'
- Choose the Vendor as 'Hitachi'
- Choose the Model as 'SMI-S'
- In Username field enter the SMI-S Provider username
- In the Password field enter the SMI-S Provider password
- Provide the Port number at which the CIM Agent is running(5989 or 5988)
- Choose whether the SSL should be Enabled(https) or Disabled(http)
- Provide the name space (by default root/hitachi/dm55). This namespace has to be modified depending on the version of HiCommand Device Manager. For example, if the version of HiCommand Device Manager installed is 5.8, then you need to change "dm55" to "dm58". If you are adding Hitachi VSP Storage then you need to specify namespace as /root/smis/smis15 (or) /root/smis/current
- Change the Timeout, if needed
- Click on Add Device.
Note : If the Ping facility is disabled for the device, then please uncheck 'Ping the given IP' field.
Note : In case of non discovery of the device, please follow the troubleshooting tips displayed in the webclient and try re-adding the device.
Note : Hitachi Device Manager, version 7.0.1 or later is required to support the discovery and monitoring of Hitachi VSP Storage.
